Rocket Launch day at school today! It was pretty awesome. The kids got rockets and we placed them on a mega sweet launching pad, and they shot up out of visibility, and came down with a parachute. Only almost got hit in the head once...not bad!
Fight Like A Girl, the women's small group I go to, was really good tonight. I really appreciate having Godly women surrounding me, and encouraging me with wisdom. I think it's very interesting how in the world we have strong desires for things that, while in this world, are only a "shadow" of what they were intended to be. With a hunger for the desires in their perfection as intended (before the fall of creation) and a lacking in the shadow, we find that we must turn from the world to find the intended only in God's perfection. And how wonderful it is that in Heaven, when we become new, every area that's lacking will be made complete to the fullest.
"If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world." C.S. Lewis

11:52 PM
It's 11:52 PM and all is well here at The Lady Loft. The brown creature is spinning in circles on the carpet, but he will relax soon. Why do I procrastinate the comfort of the Jeannie couch I choose to sleep on?
Nevertheless, Pumpkin Chocolate Chip (1Pointer) Cookies: You rock my world! Four day weekend: You were full of peace and happiness, mostly. It's now the 12:02 AM of Thursday and it's almost time for another fun filled weekend. Hot water tank: You are annoying, because you always run out before the tub is full! Family: I miss you! Come visit me! Roomie: Wake up and keep me company. Who sleeps at this time anyways? :)
Counting down the days until skiing. Sure hope the weather holds up in the mountain region, because I've been waiting four years to go. It's gonna be a-w-e-s-o-m-e, assuming I don't fly off the mountain, of course.

So, I once had a teacher who told me that the sky was blue, because it reflects off of the ocean. Interesting, huh? Well...as I was talking about light with someone today, she said, "Isn't the sky blue, because it reflects off of the ocean?" It's still going around, after all of these years! The answer is NO. However, the sky is blue because: As white light (made up of different colors) enters the atmosphere, most of the longer wavelengths (red, orange, yellow) pass through. Blue light has a shorter wavelength and gets absorbed by the gas molecules and spreads across the sky in different directions. This...is why the sky appears to be blue. Whatever color is not absorbed, bounces off of an object...and is the color that you see! Cool, huh?
P.S. The Sun is kind of a scary creature. If you ever go into outer space...stay away from it ;)
So there is your science lesson for today. <3
Life has been full of twists and turns, never allowing it to get too comfortable or predictable. Always changing, with new adventures, unexpected events, and challenges, it keeps me on my toes. And it stands...God is Great!
